Reason: Can Not Communicate with "printer2: Kitchen"!
When a printer can't print, the person taking the order will get an error message on their screen, telling them which printer can't print, and why.
Additionally, the POS will try to print to its available backup printer.
If the backup printer is unavailable, it will print to the first available printer.
When a backup printer is used, the ticket that gets printed will also print the printer error, telling the user that the print job was redirected from a printer that isn't working, and why that printer isn't working.

Problems that can cause printers to error out are network issues, no paper, the cover being open, or the printer is off.
The main problem that will NOT cause an error to be displayed, but no ticket to print is a paper jam.

When a printer is very low on paper, it will also error out.
In many cases, it may not have enough paper left in it for a longer ticket, and thus may not be able to finish its print job, so it will cause an error as well.

In the rare case that no printers at all are available, an error is displayed, and the print jobs go to their normal printers, and will print out when they become available again.
Generally, this is caused by a network issue on the server, the servers network cable being unplugged or broken, or the switch being unplugged or broken.

In the three examples to the left:
The first error is because of the cover being open. Check to see if it has an error light or the cover is open. Remove and reinstall the roll of paper.

The second because it is nearly out of paper. Replace the roll of paper.

The third because the printer is either off, or due to a network issue. Check to see if the printer is on, and check that the network cable is firmly plugged in.
